Intermittent video 404 errors & slow speeds

As you are all no doubt aware, there have been some intermittent video issues on VReel over the past few days - ranging from sluggish speeds to 404 errors on attempting to load your content.

This is being caused by an attack on VReel's video servers. The attack itself is very clever in nature - an ip tables spoof is in short, using VReel's own defences against itself, literally making our servers attack themselves. This type of attack can also make it difficult to log exactly who is behind it. The attack is seemingly a lot more co-ordinated and "professional" than anything which has been launched against VReel to date.

We are currently working on patching our systems, along with examining our router logs to find what parties are behind these attacks.

We will keep this thread fully updated with any news that becomes relevant. We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and will credit all premium accounts for any lost viewing time.

What is curious is why someone would spend so much time and their efforts into taking down Vreel. Has someone been making some enemies? :P

right there mate! why there is people mean enough to harm others properties, its such stupidity... this is clearly jealousy of the potential and qualities of vreel corp that they cant achieve.. best luck vreel!

Good that Vreel is now taking care of the problem, but it took time for noticing something was not right after so many posts, it could have been bad for Vreel security and servers if this hacker/s manage to introduce some nasty thing.
Happy for the news, and hope Vreel crucify the sic person/s doing this.
Once more Vreel shows how big it is and will be.

Who would target a video site like Vreel... what do they win if Vreel goes down? Hopefully you guys find out who is behind this.

It's to be expected. Vreel just got caught in an attack like many other sites/individuals. It has less to do with Vreel,
or any other site, and has more to do with a** holes with to much time on their hands. No different than those who
create virus/worms/trojans.

I see this as no other thing anything can be seen as a 2 bladed sword, as an example a pencil its main perpose is as a writeing tool but can be used as a weapon.

those computer users that like to make trouble could get paid to use there talents for good but there is people that like to do bad.

I don't know for sure what's happening but since the problems are slow speeds and 404 problems, try DoS (denial-of-service) protection. DoS attacks are becoming frequent now and many of my sites are being attacked from that but i managed to solve many problems regarding that.
